Vaxholm – the Capital of the Archipelago, a small-town idyll just 30 km from Stockholm. Founded by King Gustav Vasa in the 16th century, Vaxholm later became a fashionable seaside resort for wealthy Stockholmers during the 1800s. Many of the beautiful turn-of-the-century buildings from that era still stand today. Now, Vaxholm is a vibrant destination loved by locals and travelers alike, arriving from near and far by the classic Waxholmsbolaget boats or by bus.

Vaxholm consists of 57 inhabited islands and the Bogesundslandet peninsula. There is so much to discover beyond the town center!

My name is Hampus, and I’ve lived in Vaxholm for most of my life. Through Bikes and Tours, I offer locals and visitors expert excursion tips and the opportunity to explore Vaxholm by bike.

Having grown up here and spent my entire life in the archipelago, I truly believe it’s one of the most beautiful places on Earth. I’m thrilled to help visitors discover this part of Stockholm's island world in such a fun and active way.

You’ll find Bikes and Tours Vaxholm in one of the traditional fishermen's huts in Vaxholm Guest Harbor. Here, you can rent bikes and book various activities. Some of our bikes can be rented directly on the quay or at other locations through our self-service system at bikesandtourvaxholm.se. It’s easy: just book online, receive a code via SMS, unlock your bike, and you’re good to go! Simply return it to the same spot when you're done.
